Excerpts From The Energy Balance Approach

 

“We have no closer relationship with the environment that when we eat.  In the act of eating we take a part of our environment and put it inside our own body.  In doing so we integrate the energy from our surroundings with our own qi.  We have a unique opportunity to decide what we need from our environment and choose the foods that will meet those needs.  Every time we eat, every meal that we consume will have an energetic effect on us.  Just as taking medicines or drugs, or using alcohol or tobacco changes our energy so does food.  If we understand our own energetic needs we can ensure that every meal will have a positive effect, benefiting our health and well-being.  I think we have a responsibility to ourselves to do just that – after all, in each life we only get one body.  A healthy body will enable us to get the most out of life.“
